Macrame Replacement Knots (MRK’s)
MRK’s have been traditionally been used to replace strings that are too short. Their ability to introduce a change of colors (coupled with Knotshot’s ability to foresee and modify those changes) have made these knots transformational for the art of Macramé.
The individual knots below are easy to tie. Knotshot uses the two overhand knots (regular macramé knots) as separate “clamping knots”. The upper clamping knot holds the middle two strings coming from the knots above. The lower clamping knot is tied around the two strings which will continue in the work. Replaced strings are left behind the knot and fall behind the face of the project. They can be re-introduced later if desired
